2011 Toyota Corolla Altis
The Toyota Corolla was in a much-needed facelift/redesign and it’s finally getting one. Tomorrow at the 2010 LA Auto Show, Toyota will show the 2011 Corolla with a new front nose and minor changes to the rear. It also gets some nice interior upgrades, Toyota Care complimentary maintenance plan, standard Smart Stop Technology, standard vehicle stability control, traction control and two new colors.
The 2011 Toyota Corolla is available in three trim levels including the base Corolla, LE and S models. All models are powered by a 1.8L DOHC 4-cylinder engine making 132-hp and a peak torque of 128 lb-ft. The engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT).
Of course if you’re shopping in this segment then fuel-economy is one of your concerns and the 2011 Corolla doesn’t disappoint there. The 2011 Toyota Corolla averages an EPA-estimated fuel-economy of 26/34 mpg (city/highway) when mated to a 4-speed automatic and 28/35 mpg when mated to a 5-speed manual.
However, don’t forget that the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze hits 40 mpg highway and Ford also expects the 2012 Focus to hit 40 mpg in highway fuel-economy.
